Sustainable Salons rescues up to 95% of salon resources from landfills and finds repurposing solutions that benefit the environment and give back to our community. As part of the Sustainable Salons Network, we are committed to reducing our ecological footprint, supporting charitable causes and implementing environmentally sustainable practices in all that we do.
Here’s what we’ve achieved on our journey to zero waste!
90,000+ ponytails collected and sent to charitable organisations and wig-makers for those suffering from medically-induced hair-loss
143,200 kg of plastic kept in circulation and out of the landfill
193,700 kg of paper recycled
188,600 kg of metals diverted from landfill
29,600 litres of excess chemicals recycled back into the water
118,000 meals provided for the homeless via OzHarvest and KiwiHarvest
Recycled 2,250 kg of e-waste, reducing the number of raw materials mined and preventing toxins from leaching into the environment.

Your ponytails are sent to local charitable organisations and wig-makers, where they can contribute to wigs for medically-induced hair-loss conditions.
